Letter from InnoVal.

There has been speculation that our company is porting NetExtra to Windows95/NT. Some of you talked with me about it at ColoradOS/2 and many of you have called me or written to me about this. I have confirmed to you that we are doing so (code name: WebWilly). This does not represent a shift away from OS/2. We remain 100% committed to OS/2, to our OS/2 products, and to our OS/2 customers. We are, and will continue to be, a successful OS/2 ISV in every sense of the word.

Those of you with whom I have discussed this strategy to port NetExtra to the Windows95/NT platform understand that it is a sensible business decision. NetExtra is very successful and popular in the OS/2 arena and it should be successful on other platforms. Though there are numerous Windows tools that do some of the things that NetExtra does, none are as comprehensive or as powerful.

Many of you use Windows95 at home or at work and want to be able to run NetExtra in both environments. Large corporate customers want the product but only if it will run on all of their machines. That is understandable. We have similar requests to port the Post Road Mailer into a multiple platform product, or to Java. The same is likely to be true for Post Road Query Plus, a yet unannounced OS/2 front-end to mainframe database systems. Ultimately, I believe that the software products that will have the most marketplace strength will be multi-platform products.

Efforts to improve our OS/2 products continue and will continue. Today we released a free upgrade to Surf'nRexx (Release 1.2) and we will be releasing enhancements to our other OS/2 products in the near future. At the same time we can't ignore a market that will strengthen our company. We can't ignore what our customers are requesting of us. That includes continued support for OS/2. We will benefit as a company and you will benefit as a customer.

I would like to hear from you on this subject. Please write to me at innoval@ibm.net. For additional information please review our home page.

Thank you,

Dan Porter, President
InnoVal Systems Solutions, Inc.
