I want to really thank everyone who dropped me a line this month with such kind words. It is nice to know that so many people appreciate the work we do here at OS/2 eZine. While this is my last issue as Editor in Chief, I'm leaving the eZine in the capable hands of Isaac Leung . I am really looking forward to sitting down to see what he does with the OS/2 eZine on July 16th. Isaac has been a long-time contributor to the eZine, so while he is working on his new editor duties, it is up to you, the OS/2 community, to try to fill the void he is leaving by submitting articles of your own.
Thanks also to everyone who volunteered to take on the Editor in Chief position. I was rather shocked at the overwhelming number of volunteers for the position, when so many consider our community dead. We had a number of impressive candidates with a wide variety of expertise, which made the decision-making process for me a lot harder. In the end I think Isaac has the best combination of technical and language skills for the position. I just hope that when Isaac is ready to retire, that some of those same people will consider taking on the position again.
I'd also like to thank Dennis Bareis (http://www.labyrinth.net.au/~dbareis/ppwizard.htm), Blueprint Software Works (http://www.blueprintsoftwareworks.com/netdrive/), Sundial Systems Corporation (http://www.junkspy.com/), Norman and Ken Yee (http://www.pixvision.com/) and last, but certainly not least, Dadaware (http://www.dadaware.com/). You folks have all played an important part in producing the OS/2 eZine every month.
Last, and most significantly, I'd like to thank my wife Wendy for her patience and understanding all those Saturdays when I was hunched over the laptop editing articles or resizing pictures rather than taking her out hiking, biking or kayaking. In my defense, I did always make sure to take her on Sundays.
Don't forget to play.
