This month marks the first article in an ongoing, intermittent series called Graverobbers. This series focuses on free,
discontinued commercial products that are still well worth getting. This first article looks at Embellish, a very handy image
editing tool that unfortunately passed before its time.
I'm pleased to welcome onboard Bas Heijermans who will be hosting an ongoing OS/2 Q&A in the forums. Got an OS/2
problem or question? Ask Bas, he's got a lot of experience and he'll do his best to find you an answer. I'd also like to
thank R. Bret Walker for taking on the monthly news column. If you've got a hot
tip, or a new press release, make sure you let him know.
I was disappointed to hear of the passing of the About OS/2 site. Apparently About had to make some
difficult financial choices and the result was the elimination of over 80 About sites including the one for BeOS. Don't
worry about Walter Metcalf and all those great articles he wrote, he's upbeat about the whole thing and is looking for a
new home for both them and himself. Don't think you've heard the last of him.
Last month's authors won some good prizes. Douglas Clark won a copy of Back Again 2000 and Pete Grubbs won a
copy of PM View 2000. Congratulations to the winners. Thanks to the advertisers for their
enthusiastic support.
You might have noticed this month's issue was up a couple days early. This month I'm going on vacation for a couple of weeks, but I'll be back
in time to get out the May issue, so don't worry if I don't reply promptly to email. If you're looking to write for the May issue, get
a hold of Pete Grubbs he'll be managing the selection of articles for next
month. Thanks Pete.
