Christopher
B. Wright is the Editor in Chief of OS/2 eZine, a title he tried to duck for
many months with little success. When he's not working on OS/2 eZine (what? he's
not supposed to have any other jobs!) he works on his web comic strip, Help
Desk.
If you have a comment about the content of this article, please feel free to vent

From the Editor
I didn't get a chance to go to Warpstock
this year. It's been that kind of month.
And now that it's publication time, I'm sure you're all curious what's going to
break this time. Well, I can say with much enthusiasm (and even more fervent
hope) that, apparently, nothing will. Last month was excessively annoying and difficult,
and other than the emotional scarring I received when I was suddenly unable to access
any of my data due to some strange problem or other, I'm "much better now."
And OS/2 eZine is back in form. Well, a form. It has a form, of some kind. Maybe.
Last month was useful for many respects.
For the last few months, people have been sending me emails that the archives were
all screwed up, and I couldn't figure out what they were talking about. Well, I
realized that with each issue I was writing over some of the files needed for the
earlier issues, which meant that many of our most recent past issues were inaccessible.
That has, for the most part, been fixed. I suspect that by the time you're reading
this, it will have been completely fixed, but I don't want to make any blanket promises
at this point.
I was very disappointed that I wasn't
able to attend Warpstock. I hadn't been able to attend WarpTech due to lack of funds,
and I'd been looking forward to attending at least one OS/2 event... however, when
Warpstock rolled around I still suffered from a lack of funds. However, some of
the OS/2 eZine writers were there.
So this month, we will have some
articles on Warpstock for your enjoyment, but because it ended the weekend before
this issue was published, they're going to come in drips and drabs. Pete Grubbs
makes his return to OS/2 eZine with a new installment of his now annual "corner
a hapless Warpstock attendee and don't let them leave until they answer 20 questions,"
which was my favorite part of the Warpstock reports last year. He managed to corner
six people, and we'll be posting one a month. Also, we should have some pictures
and a report on the Odin session at Warpstock.
Incidentally, if you'd like to send
us your thoughts on how Warpstock went, we will post them. Send me a report, and
I'll add it to the section after a quick edit.
Lest you think that's all we have
for you, however, we also have one of the remaining two reviews I didn't manage
to put up last month (quiet, you, and you know who you are), the two reviews I DID
put up last month (since I put them up very, very late), a review of FURI by ShyGuy.
Also, two new series show up this month -- Ray Tennenbaum will explain to everyone
who owns a Palm Pilot how they can use it with their OS/2 machine, and Simon Gronlund,
along with continuing is Into Java series, starts a new set of articles for anyone
who wants to learn how to create their own web pages.
Have fun. Use the forums. Talk to
us.
